Gabby was an awesome tour guide. Even at 36 degree weather at night she was still vivacious! Make sure to bring walking shoes tho. I believe we hit 7 stops on this tour all around the French Quarter. It was cool seeing different filmed locations like AHS and haunted sites.
I don’t know where to start. My husband and I were on our 2 year anniversary trip and last minute booked this ghost tour. Let’s just say we were SO happy we did! Gabby was GREAT. She treated us like family. She was very knowledgeable, informational, and entertaining. I would 100% recommend and make sure you ask for my girl Gabby!
Although I was freezing cold, it felt like 15 degrees, I had a fun time on this tour. Our guide, gabby, was great. She was fun, funny, friendly, and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the sites and area. My only disappointment is that I didn't see any ghosts, but maybe I was too cold trying to stay warm to notice lol. The rest of this review is about the wheelchair accessibility of this tour and the French quarter. I thought the brochure or whomever answered the phone said the tour was wheelchair accessible. The info on TripAdvisor says it's not. As a person who uses a power chair (a motorized wheelchair some call an electric chair--not the kind they used in prison, and not a scooter.) Since we didn't go inside any of the places, we just stayed on the sidewalks, it was OK. The sidewalks in this town are not wheelchair friendly, there is a lot of broken up concrete that's hard to maneuver and hard on the chair. There were a couple of sidewalks that had big poles or other big items blocking the sidewalk and the only cut out ramps were at each end. In a power chair, it's not advisable to go down big curbs so a couple times in the French quarter, not on this tour, I'd find out halfway down the street that I was blocked from going any further on the sidewalk so I'd have to turn around go back. On this tour, gabby figured out where'd I'd have a hard time and told me to go in the street instead. If we thought I could make it, her and the other people on the tour would help me to keep me from falling in to any holes. There were big holes, construction, random things, and the next day must be trash day bcthe residents all had their big trash cans out on the curb. There are no stairs on this tour. We did stop at a outdoor bar along the way that didn't seem easily accessible, I waited on the sidewalk. There were also some pretty tall speed bumps that are not just a little concrete hill to go over. They are metal with a maybe 1-2 slant to go over and a flat 4-6 inch top, then down again, like a plateau. Some people using manual chairs may need help going over those things. Most people using manual chairs can also get on and off the sidewalks easily just hopping the curbs or having someone let them off/on the curb. Power chairs can't do that. I'd say the tour IS wheelchair accessible but not independent accessible, meaning you might need help if you're using a power chair or if you're a high level quad still able to use a manual chair. Paras shouldn't have any problems. Use the bathroom before the tour bc there are accessible bathrooms along the way. Bring snacks and something to drink if you don't plan to get anything at the bar. They probably have water and pop but idk, I didn't look. I didn't want to carry a cold drink in my hand. My joystick hand was frozen and numb lol. I kept my other hand inside my hoodie, folded under my arm.
Our ghost tour with Gabby was so much fun! She made the tour very engaging with her personable approach to New Orleans history and hauntings (a true native of New Orleans). She is very knowledgeable and the experience we had was priceless. If you want an experience that focuses on the actual haunting history of New Orleans and not a cheesy, over the top show, this is the tour to take. Thanks Yellow Fever ghost tours!
