Highly recommend!! This tour was the perfect mix of history combined with all the local favorite food places. Come hungry because these aren’t just samples it’s a full serving at every place and they are all sooooo worth it!! I couldn’t even finish all the food by the end but I certainly tried. Our tour guide Tim was excellent and super accommodating anything we asked him we wanted to see or do that wasn’t originally in the itinerary he made apart of it, incredible guy!! I will say wear comfortable walking shoes, this tour is wonderful but be prepared to walk, not a deterrent as it will be worth it! Enjoy! And the cannoli’s OMGGGG are worth the trip alone!

Combining food and history in one big tour is great. It's the best way to learn about a city. The first half of the tour was is in the North End and we had a variety of excellent food stops and were full. But we walked it off on the second half of the tour which took us through the rest of the city along the Freedom Trail and into the Public Garden. We stopped for one snack in the afternoon and that really hit the spot. Great tour and great guide. Thank you Bob for showing us your city! And awesome job on sending us a note after the tour with a recap and a list of recommendations.

Mary R. took me through the North End, sampling local food along the way. Mary was very knowledgeable on the history of Boston-starting off in Christopher Columbus Park and the Long Wharf. We stopped at Bricco Panetteria where we snacked on some delicious Sfogliatella lemon and ricotta stuffed pastry-a first for me. Then we stopped by Salumeria Italian and picked up an Italiano sandwich and I purchased pancetta which was enjoyed later in the week. We then went to the first Italian Cafe in Boston for a Cannoli. We ate our sandwiches in the park square by the Paul Revere house and looked around the Old North Church. Lastly, we went to Parzialles for a slice of authentic Italian pizza-by then, I was pretty full so I took the slice back to the hotel. We also went to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market and learned about the Sons of Liberty and Sam Adams checking out the Old State House and the Boston Massacre site marker. We then went up to the Old South Meeting House, which housed the British troops' horses after the Boston Tea Party. Lastly we made our way over to Granary burial ground where I later found out my daughter-in-laws relatives are buried. (Now I can proudly say I'm related to a Boston Mayflower Franklin!) This was a really "small" group tour of 2 and therefore Mary could customize the tour as we went along-spending time and providing details of areas of the most interest to me. It was a really cold day, but we were dressed for the weather and experienced a wonderful day in Boston. Grateful for Mary and her interest in history education.

-- Tim, our guide was very knowledgeable about Boston history and also knew about people we saw who had a history of living in the North End. Impressive: He was able to fluidly share knowledge, stories and history for six hours of walking, eating and drinking! -- Years ago, we went on the North End food tour (same company, different guide, and it was excellent), and there was a lot of overlap in places we visited and ate between that and this Freedom Trail food tour. -- We called ahead of time to give dietary info for one member of our party (vegetarian, gluten free). The person on the phone said that was a very common request and no problem to accommodate. However, that message didn't seem to be relayed to our guide, and it was actually a challenge to accommodate in the North End and have enough food. However, Tim did his best to find options. -- Tim is a good photographer, and he was happy to pause wherever the group wanted to take photos.

Wow! The trip was just right. The food, and meeting the bakers and chefs in person was so much fun! The in depth history lesson was great and I’m now smarter than my kids!
